*make a outdoor daybed ( i have been wanting an outdoor daybed forever. even at walmart and target they are at least $400. yay for anna and knock off wood!

i made up my mind about the wallpaper. i have been thinking about doing the whole fabric/starch thing since it is reusable but this post from danielle thompson made my mind up for me. so much more customizable. in the long run i think it will be a better option for me since i hope to not stay in this house of mine for to long.has anybody tried it? any tips out there? off to research fabrics...

i can't wait until spring so i can do this... seen here really what could be lovelier than sitting outside on these chairs, sipping homemade lemonade with my boys? nothing i think.

i'm feeling the crochet itch bad... wanting to make all of these free patterns from crochet today. alas i cannot because i told myself i would not start any new projects until i finish the ones i'm working on now.
don't they just make you happy to look at though? or am i the only old lady out there?

i really really want this orla kiely blossom wallpaper but alas i do not have the $95 a roll that it cost. i think that any of these will be a happy alternative. what do you think? all of these rolls are much cheaper than the orla wallpaper.

i love this cool idea seen on design sponge
i am in the process of making a yarn wreath like this one from bluebird vintage
but mixed with one like this one seen on sew mama sew
i'm finishing up a tutorial for tomorrow. it's a cute gift idea. there might be a giveaway to go along with it too.
and i just realized that it is only 5 weeks until Christmas! oh brother, i have a lot of catching up to do if i plan on getting things done this century. and glee is on tonight! holy cow it's 8:30 and my baby is still asleep, that never happens. my boys never sleep in past 7:30 no matter what i do. it's alright though since they go to bed pretty early.

as mom to three little mini grandpa brent's ( train crazy grandpa) the choice is obvious. we must have this wallpaper seen on ohdeedoh.

the layton DI has finally proven itself to me! i was beginning to feel like that particular store wasn't worth my time ( but i love centerville) all that changed with this last trip. check out the loot. i cannot tell you how long i have been searching for a gaudy ornate mirror and today i found her. i didn't even grab a cart and my arms were already full, but you better believe i snatched her heavy arss up asap and proceeded to tote her around with me. check out the pillow too, does is look anthro-ish or straight up old lady? i think my old lady decorating twin must have passed away or something because i feel all these items came from the same house. whoever you are old lady i love you... and mostly i love your stuff that your family gave away because they were to dumb to realize how lovely it was.

pretty sheet destined to become a skirt...

stay tuned for the after pictures.

milk glass chandelier...yes please!

from anthro on sale or $695 ( ps anyone have an extra $700 for me?)

dollar store cupcake/jewlery stands

$2 cupcake stands-
*candle dish
*glass candle stick
* clear gorilla glue or e6000 or any other glass glue
*cute lace or trim if you so desire
the candle dish and stick were found at dollar tree! i found some small glass tea light holders at the DI the next day and used them as a base on some other ones.
glue these together...let dry overnight and you've got
these
stay tuned for how i used them for Halloween decor ( also using dollar tree finds!)
by the way do you know how hard it is to take pictures of glass???

before and after

this is not my kitchen...
just one from DIY that i plan on using for inspiration for my very small kitchen redo budget...
do any of you get DIY magazine? i love it. whenever i go to sams or costco i splurge and buy one, i guess i could just get a subscription because i have almost every issue of the last 2 years. ( hint hint family!) anyhow they also have a website here. there are many easy and affordable ideas to be found. i have this particular kitchen redo dogeared in my magazine. the kitchen layout and the cabinets and everything are very similar to my very own kitchen.

Here's the problem... is it too much to paint the cabinets black and white? i have always wanted creamy white cabinets but seeing the black and white together makes me rethink my all white cabinets. should i go for it and paint both colors or should i just paint them white and get a black hutch or something?

and this is my new favorite nursery of all time. i looooooove the color scheme so much i want to marry it. and those cloud shelves...

love this idea seen on apartment therapy. i might have to copy it for my home.

i bookmarked this a while ago and forgot to post about it. find out how to make this cool pallet bed at ashley ann photography. her daughter's whole room is darling.
i've been wanting to use this idea for some sort of couch/bed thingy for my pergola outside. { this was how the previous owners had the yard looking}
i on the other hand have an out of control jungle yard with mucho weeds. i only pray that the lady doesn't ever drive by and cry her little horticulturist heart out and the damage we've done to her precious yard.
what do you think? i think if i just used oilcloth or outdoor canvas to cover the foam it would work out. my little brain is thinking of all the other pallet creations i can come up with.

more decorating ideas

I've become house decorating obsessed. maybe because i am trying to get our small ( 1200 sq foot) home decorated and on a budget. i don't really have the time or money right now to do what i would really like with our humble abode but a girl can dream right?
here's another lovely child's room . i really am liking the pale blue+ orange or yellow. you can find more here what a fun idea this is... and how amazing is this kids bedroom? these guys at walter and veronica used this fabric
then they photocopied the pattern and traced in on the wall. i would probably try to make a stencil, then use spray adhesive to stick it on the wall while i painted it. this is how is turned out.

have you ever seen anything this cool? somehow i will find the time to do something like this. maybe just as an accent wall.

we have lived in our house for over a year now and are just getting to decorating. umm yeah pretty embarrassing.in my defense i did have two small boys and then got pregnant again. i love this for my baby's room! the walls are already the same exact color. i love the yellow+blue combo. we have yucky ugly carpet in the bedrooms with "hardwood" everywhere else. i would eventually like to have hardwood floors throughout the whole house.

photos from ohdeedoh
i also really like this one.
finally this one from wee wonderfuls gives my good ideas for my older boys shared room.

i especially like this idea to showcase my collection of vintage kids books.

what are your favorite resources for real home decorating ideas?
