dollar store wreath

ps. head over to making the world cuter so i can tell you how i made my quick and cheap $2 wreath.

my oldest son really wants me to make him an octopus. he asks me about a hundred times a day. my granny was telling me about yarn octopus that she made when she was little. check it out here. its pretty silly but i am positive that my boys will love them.

isn't this idea from pottery barn cool? making some for my kids using this tutorial.

for the bat chandeliers- everyone needs to bring -

* a pack of glue dots ( megan suggested using your micheals, roberts, or ben franklin coupon)

* embroidery hoops- AND YOU NEED TO PAINT THEM BLACK BEFORE YOU COME!!! it looks like you need three of varying sizes from big to little ( you can get them at craft stores or di or your granny's!)

* a few dollars to cover the cost of the paper, tuelle and fishing line i will get the tuelle and fishing line, megan has the punch already and may be able to get the paper... yeah i am so excited this is a cute project and i am so ready for halloween!

for the time i was thinking 8:00 so the kids will be in bed. does that work? everyone bring your favorite fall food to share and some copies of the recipe. we will be meeting in my grammy sue's basement so we better behave. any suggestions on anything else?

so i lied.... first craft will not be the earrings. apparently the shop i wanted to purchase the supplies from in in hong kong , and shipping takes 1 -2 weeks.oops. we will still be having crafty night on Thursday if you guys want. i was thinking of the cute bat chandelier from meg's store see here for directions. is everyone good with that? let's get a headcount if you plan on coming or not. tell me in the comments if you plan on coming this time or not. thanks.

my boys helped me pick raspberries today. they ate them faster than i could pick them and i was lucky to even get this many. my baby was so funny crawling around after us and pulling raspberries off the vine. he looked like a crazy little jungle baby when we were all done with his berry stained face and his make out hair.

i'm making my mom a quilt for her birthday and i am loving these blocks in particular. this is the first quilt that i have made from a pattern and i have to say that i keep asking myself " what the hell have i gotten myslef into?" nothing is easy or turning out the way it is supposed to. i am taking a break for a few days from the quilt. we both need a break, time to think things over and see if we can make it work. i'm sure we can in the end.

the last picture is of a little embroidery that i'm going to hang on my collage wall. i love the color of the fabric and plan on making a shirt out of it next.
